So What’s Your Story?
In most social settings, the first question people ask is, “So, what do you do?” After answering this countless times, I decided to respond differently during a business trip in New Hampshire. When a hotel desk clerk asked, I replied, “I’m a ‘Business Storyteller.’” Although I have a background in sales and marketing, this title better reflects my passion for helping businesses communicate their value.
She looked confused and asked, “What is that?”
“I help businesses and their owners grow by telling their stories to employees, shareholders, customers, and the wider world. The more compelling your story, the more successful your business will be.” Since that evening, I have continued to use this answer. While I am an experienced business and marketing consultant, at my core, I am a storyteller dedicated to supporting business growth and development.
